The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has engaged the services of Ali Nuhu, a Nollywood actor as the ‘Face of the Consumer’. Ali Nuhu is a popular actor, screen writer and film director, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

The NCC said in a statement in Lagos on Wednesday, that the engagement was in affirmation of the declaration of 2017 as the Year of the Consumer.

It stated that Nuhu, an actor, screenwriter and film director had produced and directed at least 20 movies and had also featured in over 100 Nollywood and Kannywood (Hausa Language) movies.

The regulatory body had, during the week, lined up series of activities, which will be flagged off on March 15, at the commission’s Head Office by the Minister for Communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu.

Interestingly, March 15, which is the World Consumer Right’s Day and coincides with Nuhu’s birthday according to the report.

NCC said that Nuhu’s engagement in a non-exclusive contract as the Face of the Telecom Consumer was thus historic.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports, Nuhu paid a visit to NCC on March 7 to formalise the engagement.

NCC said that by this engagement, Nuhu will feature in handbills, flyers, banners, posters, TV appearances and radio jingles.

He will also feature on memorabilia and other iconography materials designed by the commission for its series of activities.

NCC said that the activities had been scheduled to sensitize and celebrate the telecommunications consumers as the most central stakeholders of the industry.
